FETO MATERNAL MEDICINE

Institute of Academic Excellence In Healthcare (IAEHC) the educational wing of Gunasheela Hospital, conducts various teaching programmes. Gunasheela is associated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore to conduct two Fellowship Programmes – one in Reproductive Medicine and the other in Feto Maternal Medicine. Both of these are postgraduate courses of 18 months duration. The Reproductive Medicine Course was first started in 2005. Since then 38 fellows have gone through this course, successfully and at present there are 6 fellows in various stages of their training. This is a comprehensive scheme where gynaecologists undergo valuable training, become proficient in the science of infertility and gain the capability of handling patients independently in their private practice.

FETO MATERNAL MEDICINE

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Training Program at Johns Hopkins is a clinical and research-oriented fellowship designed to provide advanced education and training in the care of the pregnant patient and her fetus, prenatal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, clinical and didactic teaching skills, and developing research skills. Our academic environment, faculty educators, case acuity, diversity and volume of complicated pregnancies provide a strong foundation for our comprehensive fellowship training program in maternal-fetal medicine.

ELIGIBILITY: MBBS Degree from a University recognized by the MCI, M.D. / M.S. (or its equivalent recognised degree) in Obstetrics & Gynecology from a recognized University or DGO with 1 year experience.
COURSE FEE: Fixed by the University
COURSE TYPE: Full time course with hands on training lectures, seminars, visit to different labs to observe procedures related to Infertility.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Evaluation of infertile couples including history and physical examination, laboratory tests, hands on experience with procedures related to reproductive medicine. Providing surgical experience related to reproductive medicine (diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy / hysteroscopy surgery) Assessment and dealing with complex infertility problems Providing technical skills in handling gametes and embryos and management of laboratory in relation to human infertility programme
COURSE CONTENTS: The training program will include the following areas: Reproductive Surgery Management of Infertile Couple Assisted Reproductive Techniques Subspecialty Clinics.
CERTIFICATION: Examination at the end of the course / programme, conducted by IAEHC.
